Position Summary
Due to ongoing growth, the company has created a new leadership role: Vice President, Asset Management. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the VP will lead the strategy and execution of asset management across a portfolio totaling approximately 4.2 million sq. ft. This individual will be responsible for maximizing portfolio performance, managing a team of 6 to 10 professionals, and collaborating closely with development, leasing, finance, and property management teams.
Key Responsibilities
· Define strategic objectives for the Income Producing Property (IPP) portfolio in collaboration with ownership
· Develop and implement strategies to achieve these objectives
· Create and execute an Asset Management Plan for each individual property
· Oversee all property management and leasing functions for the IPP portfolio
· Lead the preparation of budgets, financial forecasts, and monthly reporting for the IPP portfolio
· Establish and enforce operational and maintenance standards for the IPP portfolio
· Develop procurement standards and policies and oversee adherence for all procurement activities related to the IPP portfolio
· Collaborate with the Property Development Group and other stakeholders as appropriate
Qualifications
· University degree; preference for a professional designation in business, engineering, or law
· Minimum 5 years of asset management experience (preferably retail)
· Minimum 5 years of property management experience (preferably retail)
· Strong knowledge of commercial real estate leasing
· Proven leadership and team management experience
· Experience in finance, lending, and underwriting commercial real estate (ideally with exposure to Edmonton and/or Alberta)
· M&A and project management experience considered an asset
