Project Manager, Heavy Civil

Description

Our client – a respected contractor in the water/wastewater and earth-moving sectors of the construction industry – has an immediate need for a Project Manager to oversee residential and ICI site servicing projects as well as very large municipal infrastructure contracts.  

The ideal candidate should be a meticulous, enthusiastic individual who is able to work well independently and in an efficient and effective manner. Responsibilities

Primary point of contact for the DIG on any given project.

  • Responsible for the effective and professional execution of key project coordination and management process, ensuring completeness and accuracy of all corresponding documentation for same.

  • Responsibilities also include:

    • Project Requirements Fulfillment documentation and protocols - initiating and providing updates relative to data-preparation, project start-up, project close-out.

    • professional and respectful client communication/correspondence

    • preparation and finalization of progress billings

    • time & material tracking and billings

    • change order management, etc.

    • “KYC” – Know Your Contract (conditions/special provisions/specifications)

  • Collaboration with and support for field supervisory staff including liaising with superintendents and forepersons to create optimal strategies relative to execution and sequencing of project scope.

  • Aiding estimating with final preparations of bids for submissions, both public and private as required.

  • Attend virtual and in-person project meetings.

  • Efforts to enhance and improve associated business processes, including through the deployment of technology.

Qualifications

  • CET, P.Eng. or equivalent designation is strong asset.

  • Minimum 5 years of relevant project management/coordination experience in heavy civil specifically watermain/sewar, roadbuilding and bulk earthworks.

  • Excellent reading comprehension and mathematical skills.

  • Excellent grammar and written communication skills

  • Excellent verbal communication skills

  • Technology proficient
