Our client, a real estate investment and asset management firm with approximately $14B in assets under management, has an immediate and strategic need due to growth and success to add a Manager, Investments to their Investments team.  They pride themselves on delivering optimal risk-adjusted returns throughout all phases of the investment cycle by investing in high-quality, commercial real estate properties and commercial real estate debt across Canada.

This is a strategic and impact hire reporting directly to the Executive Vice President and Head of Investments.

We are looking for a Manager, Investments to join our client’s team.  They are a commercial real estate investment manager dedicated to providing institutional and high net worth investors with direct access to investment in commercial real estate assets. Through the execution of their disciplined investment approach and active management of their properties, they strive to deliver stable income and attractive long-term returns through a diversified portfolio of office, industrial, retail and multi-family residential properties.

Qualifications:

•         University degree ideally in Business, Accounting or Finance

•         CFA designation considered an asset

•         4+ years of related real estate experience, ideally on a private markets real estate equity investing team

•         Advanced experience with ARGUS real estate software

•         Excellent financial and analytical skills

•         Exceptional attention to detail and proven ability to think logically and problem solve effectively

•         Demonstrated ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining strict deadlines in a fast paced, dynamic environment

•         Ideally, you bring existing relationships in the brokerage/investment community

 Responsibilities:

• Support the Deal Lead on complex transaction due diligence and overall process of completing new acquisitions and dispositions

• Lead transaction due diligence and overall process for select acquisitions and dispositions

• Prepare and review financial analysis for a wide range of real estate investments, including modelling of real estate cash flows, financing assumptions, IRRs, output sensitivities etc.

• Coordinate and manage third party consultants on acquisitions and dispositions

• Effectively communicate with partners, clients, legal, accounting and brokers on active deals

• Participate in the management and mentorship of junior staff

• Lead internal management and preparation of investment committee material and related presentation packages

• Travel from time to time related to asset and market activity and meetings with management teams, partners and brokers

• Participate in ad hoc projects and special assignments as needed

 Compensation range: $150k - $175k + bonus
