Intermediate Designer - Water Resources

Description

Our client is a 100% Canadian employee-owned civil engineering company.  They provide innovative and economic consulting services to private and public sector clients in Canada and internationally in the fields of civil (municipal) engineering and water resources management for a wide range of community growth related projects.

Due to growth, they have an immediate need for an Intermediate Designer - Water Resources to work on various types and stages of land development projects.

Working alongside the Senior Project Manager/Designer, you will prepare preliminary and detailed designs of both urban and greenfield development projects in the GTA. This includes the preparation of grading and servicing design drawings, as well as the coordination of related works with development team members.

  • P.Eng. to practice water resource engineering in Ontario

  • 8 + years experience in Water resource field in municipal engineering in Ontario

  • Minimum 3 years of leading Master Environmental Servicing Plan (MESP)

  • Minimum 3 years of leading a team of three EITs and P.Eng.s

  • Strong knowledge of PCSWMM, VO  and HEC-RAS ( there are must)

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in modeling with PCSWMM, VO and HEC-RAS.

  • Experience in continuous hydrology modeling

  • Experience in Feature base water balance 

  • Experience preparing SWM reports, FSRs and ESC reports.

  • Strong communication skill with team members and clients

  • Strong writing (reports, memos, emails and letters)

  • Working from office ( potential to work maximum 1 or 2 days from home, this depends to the candidate)

  • Team player, punctual, dedicated

  • Interest to improve and train and mentor others

  • strong knowledge of current Acts, regulations and policies related to water resource.

  • Ideally someone works and thrives in fast pace environment

  • Experience with TRCA, CLOCA, LSRCA, HCA, NCVA and NPCA.
