General Superintendent, Heavy Civil

Description

Our client – a respected contractor in the water/wastewater and earth-moving sectors of the construction industry – has an immediate need for a Superintendent to oversee sewer and watermain projects.

Responsibilities

• Organizing the labour & equipment resources, suppliers and sub-contractors for the efficient execution of projects to meet project critical path milestones.

• Engaging with and directing sewer/watermain crews to develop and execute optimal scope execution strategies to achieve project goals while maintaining schedule.

• Daily monitoring and reporting of project performance and resolution of on-site issues as they relate to performance, production and health & safety.

• Nurturing relationships with all clients and project stakeholders.

• Respectful interaction with the public.

• Open and transparent communication and collaboration with forepersons, PMs, and company principals on field status of projects regularly, as required.

• Identifying and managing client expectations. 

Qualifications

• CET, P.Eng. or equivalent designation is strong asset

• 10+ years in heavy civil construction ideally with a minimum 5 years of relevant experience as superintendent.

• Excellent reading comprehension and mathematical skills.

• Excellent grammar and written communication skills.

• Excellent verbal communication skills.

• Technology proficient.
