Clients include owners and developers of retail, commercial, residential, and industrial projects. Due to growth and success, they have an immediate and strategic opening for a Design Engineer/Technician.

Responsibilities

You will join a tight-knit group of engineers with decades of experience in land development engineering and consulting to execute the following:

• Prepare detail design drawings including servicing, stormwater management, grading, erosion and sediment control plans, and any other drawings required to secure municipal approvals or complete construction of the project

• Prepare detailed engineering reports, including functional servicing reports and stormwater management reports for various stages of development including planning amendments, site plan approval and permits

• Liaise directly with the client and municipalities to secure approvals

• Perform various design drawings and calculations in Civil 3D

• Assist with the preparation of tender and bid documents.

• Coordinate design details with other engineering disciplines

• All other duties assigned.

Qualifications

• A degree or diploma in Civil Engineering (or a related field)

• 5 to 10 years of related experience working as a Designer

• Expertise using AutoCAD Civil3D. Experience with other engineering design software including water or stormwater management models (hydraulic or hydrologic) would be considered an asset

• Excellent technical writing skills

• An understanding of the municipal approvals process and confidence managing a project from due diligence through to construction including communication with all stakeholders (ie. approval agencies, clients, other consultants)

• Strong self-management skills. Ability to work independently from home

• The ability to multitask, problem solve, and work effectively under strict deadlines

• A strong work ethic, motivation, judgment skills and interpersonal skills

• A strong focus on attention to detail and customer satisfaction.
