The Role
In response to strategic growth, Our Client is seeking an experienced Senior Leader and Project Manager for the London office. The successful candidate will be working with the Leadership Team based out of Toronto, with a primary focus on reestablishing their presence in the City of London and ultimately growing the London Land Development Team. The secondary objective of this role will be to expand their presence within South West Ontario. The role will be instrumental in the projected growth plan for the London team, involving a considerable mount of business development (Year 1 – 30-40% , Year 2 – 60% + )
Being part of a national land engineering practice, there will also be an opportunity to contribute on large scale industrial/commercial, automotive, transportation and municipal infrastructure projects within Eastern Canada and Nation Wide.
Responsibilities
Competent in leading and managing subdivision, site plan and urban renewal Land engineering projects
Developing and supporting business opportunities within the City of London and South West Ontario
Building and managing a London based group focusing on group performance, people, and resources
Working and aligning closely with other, in office disciplines particularly the planning team with respect to project pursuits, staff and workload planning and project delivery excellence
Being well-connected and influential, building and developing relationships with other internal teams and supporting relationships with existing and potential clients and partners, with a focus on land engineering services
Building effective relationships with other Senior Leaders within Ontario and with Market Sector Leads for Eastern and Western Canada.
Leading project tasks including researching, compiling and evaluating project data
Preparation of technical reports including Engineering Due Diligence Reports, Functional Servicing Reports and SWM reports
Preparation of detailed design engineering drawings including site servicing, grading and municipal infrastructure design
Performing design calculations for Storm, Sanitary and Water in support of proposed developments
Coordination with our international design support teams to provide CAD support
Site visits for data collection and construction observation
Complete other administrative duties as required.
Build strong relationships and create successful teams:
Make recommendations on the recruitment and lead hiring efforts within the local market
Develop and coach junior engineering staff to achieve high performance, growth, and personal development.
Support the growth objectives of the Business Unit and Market Sector Leads:
Facilitate cross-GBA collaboration
Mentor and coach team members and future leaders
Qualifications
Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering
Active P.Eng. status
10+ years proven professional experience in civil infrastructure/ land development
Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
Adapt well to continual change in a dynamic environment
Compensation
$140,000 - $180,000 CAD
