Search Methodology
Each phase of the NLC process requires a thorough and
proactive approach to ensure a smooth and successful result. We welcome the opportunity to discuss each
phase in detail tailored to your specific search and opportunity. In general, the basic framework of each NLC search
includes:
1) Search Initiation
- The key component to the search initiation phase is time
upfront with you to ensure a clear understanding of your culture, the position, and profile of the ideal target candidate.
In many cases, we work with clients to establish job descriptions and
compensation ranges.
2) Targeting and approaching candidates
- Efforts focus on identifying the leaders in the industry and
generating interest in the opportunity.
A side benefit is the positive PR that your company receives as we
promote your firm as growing, exciting place to work.
3) Client and candidate meetings
- Our belief is this phase is about open and frank discussions
between clients and well informed, prepared candidates about win-win opportunities.
4) References
- We conduct honest, probing and tailored references. Nobody is perfect. We explore the positives and the
negatives. We believe it is in your best
interest to have a full and clear picture of the candidate.
5) Offer, Counter Offer
- Throughout the process, short-listed candidates are
pre-closed on level of interest, and compensation expectations. We present and walk the candidate through the
offer with the goal to keep the spirit of the negotiation positive and enjoyable.
Time is spent discussing the dangers of accepting counter-offers.
6) Transition
- Often an over looked phase of the search process. Once the decision has been made and the
candidate resigns, we fully acknowledge that this can be an emotional and
sometimes difficult time. We stay in
close contact as a sounding board and source of support and continued guidance.
